WINSTON – (UKC BIS Ch, Ch Rowansgaard Ross Poldark)

Winston’s 11th birthday celebration was 2nd November; he was hale and hearty, and the occasion was marked by a long phone chat with his owner (Brenda Hux, NC).    I therefore was quite unprepared for Brenda’s sad message yesterday saying that Winston died suddenly last Monday – 15th November – not two weeks later. He woke up in fine fettle at 6am and within an hour had died from a massive stroke. Brenda will miss him and his escapades…

Born 2nd Nov 1999 – the first puppy whelped in the first Rowansgaard litter (Drake x Kirsty)…His owner Brenda Hux, lives in SC, and Winston is the only black dog in her kennel of Golden Retrievers. A sound dog of standard height and weight, good bone and substance, he was the sire of Cleo’s second litter, the Rowansgaard Hiawatha litter, and two of those 13 puppies (now veterans, soon to be 9 years old) still live here:   Keego (Can Ch R. Mudjekeewis, WC JH) and sister Kyoshk (Am/Can Ch R. Mudway Aushka). Through Kyoshk, Winston is grandfather to the dog who went BOSS at the 2008 FCRSA specialty in Oregon at the aged of 17mos.
